Film Classification Request           

 

 

RECOMMENDATIONS / KEY DECISIONS REQUIRED:

 

That the committee view the short films and make a recommendation regarding the admission of children to view the films with reference to the BBFC classification guidelines.

 

Shorts For Wee Ones - all the films in Shorts For Wee Ones should be shown in accordance with a U classification.

 

Shorts for Middle Ones – Wishing Box and City should be shown in accordance with a U classification.

Rouff should be shown in accordance with a PG classification.

Inclusion Makes The World More Vibrant, Scrambled and Father And Daughter should be shown in accordance with a U classification.

Nouvelle Cuisine and Language Of Ball should be shown in accordance with a PG classification.

Outdoors should be shown in accordance with a U classification.

Hybrids should be shown in accordance with a 12A classification.

Catastrophe should be shown in accordance with a PG classification.

REASONS:

To ensure that the screening of the films does not undermine the licensing objectives and in particular the protection of children from harm.

Film Classification Request

 

To consider a request from Mrs Carys Ifan on behalf of Canolfan S4C Yr Egin for a recommendation regarding the admission of children to view previously unclassified short films.

 

The applicant wishes to screen the Discovery Film Festival’s Shorts for Wee Ones.

This consists of 10 short films.

 

The applicant also wishes to screen the Discovery Film Festival’s Shorts For Middle Ones. This consists of 11 short films.

 

In order to satisfy the requirements of the Licensing Act 2003, the films shown must have a recommendation concerning the admission of children issued by either the film classification body (BBFC) or relevant licensing authority, which in this case is ourselves.

 

The committee is asked to refer to the guidelines in relation to age ratings produced by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).
