APPLICATION FOR DISPENSATION BY COUNTY COUNCILLOR E. DOLE PDF 207 KB Additional documents: Minutes: The Committee considered an application by County Councillor E. Dole, who had been appointed as leader of the Council on the 24th May 2017, for the grant of a dispensation to appoint to the Executive Board his sister-in-law Councillor L. Evans, who he wished to assume the role of Executive Board Member for Housing, a post which carried a senior salary as opposed to a basic salary. Councillor Dole had been granted a dispensation to appoint Cllr. Evans to the Executive Board in the previous Administration in this role and Cllr. Evans had also previously served as opposition spokesperson for the Housing portfolio since 2012, having been appointed to that position by the then leader of the opposition Cllr P. Hughes-Griffiths. Cllr. Evans had also previously held the salaried post of Chair of a Scrutiny Committee, having been nominated to that role by full council. Following a detailed discussion it was UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that dispensation be granted to Councillor E. Dole under Regulation 2(d) of the Standards Committees (Grant of Dispensation) (Wales) Regulations 2001, to enable him to appoint Councillor L. Evans to the Executive Board if he considers it appropriate to do so.
