WELSH GOVERNMENT TRANSPORT RELATED GRANTS 2017-18 PDF 366 KB Additional documents: Minutes: The Executive Board Member considered a report detailing bids that had been submitted to the Welsh Government for the Local Transport Fund for the 2017-18 financial year. It was highlighted that the bids were to ensure the successful delivery of key economic projects as detailed in the Council’s Local Transport Plan. The projects included support for economic development and to help facilitate the safe movement of goods and people.
The Head of Highways and Transport explained that there had been further developments and the Welsh Government had made early announcements outlining the projects that would be funded. Carmarthenshire Council had received the highest award of funding. The Executive Board Member congratulated officers on the work they had undertaken to secure this funding.
RESOLVED that the bid to Welsh Government for the Local Transport Fund for the 2017-18 financial year, as detailed within the report, be endorsed. |

CARMARTHEN SHOPMOBILITY PDF 193 KB Minutes: The Executive Board Member considered a report to support Carmarthen Shopmobility with a further grant of £13,596 for a twelve month period commencing in September 2017. It was explained that Shopmobility was one of the key priorities within the Council’s Integrated Parking Strategy. The Council had supported the Carmarthen Shopmobility Scheme since 2011 and the current funding arrangements were due to expire this year. It was noted that the Group generated income from charges and fund raising, however, it was mainly reliant on the Council’s financial support.
RESOLVED that Carmarthen Shopmobility be supported with a further grant of £13,596 for a further twelve month period, subject to the conditions detailed in the report. |

LLANELLI SHOPMOBILITY PDF 175 KB Minutes: The Executive Board Member considered a report to support Llanelli Shopmobility with a further grant of £14,000 for the 2017/18 financial year commencing on 1st April 2017. It was highlighted that Shopmobility was one of the key priorities within the Council’s Integrated Parking Strategy. The Council had supported the Llanelli Shopmobility Scheme since 2011 and the current funding arrangements were due to expire this year. It was noted that the Group generated income from charges and fund raising, however, it was mainly reliant on the Council’s financial support.
The Executive Board Member queried the level of membership in the Llanelli Scheme and it was explained that Llanelli had a different socio-economic demographic to Carmarthen. Officers would be undertaking further discussions with the Group regarding increasing membership and income generation.
RESOLVED that Llanelli Shopmobility be supported with a further grant of £14,000 for the 2017/18 financial year.
