THE REPORTS RELATING TO THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE NOT FOR PUBLICATION AS THEY CONTAIN EXEMPT INFORMATION AS DEFINED IN PARAGRAPH 12 OF PART 4 OF SCHEDULE 12A TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1972 AS AMENDED BY THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (ACCESS TO INFORMATION) (VARIATION) (WALES) ORDER 2007 AS IT CONTAINS INFORMATION RELATING TO A PARTICULAR INDIVIDUAL.

 

IF, FOLLOWING THE APPLICATION OF THE PUBLIC INTEREST TEST, THE COMMITTEE RESOLVES PURSUANT TO THE ACT TO CONSIDER THESE ITEMS IN PRIVATE, THE PUBLIC WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM THE MEETING DURING SUCH CONSIDERATION.

Minutes:

RESOLVED, pursuant to the Local Government Act 1972, as amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) (Wales) Order 2007, that the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items as the reports contained exempt information as defined in paragraph 12 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Act.

MR GAVIN JAMES ORAM - APPLICATION TO RENEW A HACKNEY CARRIAGE/PRIVATE HIRE DUAL DRIVERS LICENCE

Minutes:

(NOTE: Having earlier declared an interest in this item, Councillor E. Thomas left the meeting and therefore was not present during its determination by the Committee.  This item was presided by Vice Chair, Councillor D.E. Williams.)

 

The Committee was informed by the Democratic Services Officer that Mr Gavin James Oram was unable to attend the committee meeting and asked that consideration of the application be deferred.

 

RESOLVED that consideration of the application submitted by Mr Gavin James Oram to renew his hackney Carriage/Private Hire Dual Drivers Licence be deferred to the next meeting.

7.

MR NICHOLAS SHAUN CRANE - APPLICATION TO RENEW A HACKNEY CARRIAGE/PRIVATE HIRE DUAL DRIVERS LICENCE

Minutes:

The Committee considered an application from Mr Nicholas Shaun Crane of 74 Belvedere Avenue, Carmarthen to renew his hackney carriage/private hire dual drivers licence.

 

The Committee interviewed Mr Crane with regard to his application and issues raised by the Senior Licencing Officer.

 

The Senior Licensing Officer recommended that Mr Crane’s application be granted with a warning as to his future conduct.

 

UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that the application submitted by Mr Nicholas Shaun Crane for the grant of a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Dual Driver’s Licence be granted with a warning as to his future conduct.

 

Reason

On the evidence presented the Committee was satisfied that the applicant was a fit and proper person to hold a licence. 

8.

MR DAVID WILLIAM DAVIES - APPLICATION TO RENEW A HACKNEY CARRIAGE/PRIVATE HIRE DUAL DRIVERS LICENCE

Minutes:

The Committee considered an application from Mr David William Davies of 15 Maes Y Ffair, Carmarthen to renew his hackney carriage/private hire dual drivers licence.

 

The Committee interviewed Mr Davies with regard to his application and issues raised by the Senior Licencing Officer.

 

The Senior Licensing Officer recommended that Mr Davies’s application be granted with a warning as to his future conduct.

 

RESOLVED that the application submitted by Mr David Williams Davies for the grant of a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Dual Driver’s Licence be granted with a final warning as to his future conduct.

 

Reason

On the evidence presented the Committee was satisfied that the applicant was a fit and proper person to hold a licence. 

9.

MR LEE STUART JONES - APPLICATION FOR THE GRANT OF A HACKNEY CARRIAGE/PRIVATE HIRE DUAL DRIVERS LICENCE

Minutes:

The Committee was advised that an application had been received from Mr Lee Stuart Jones of 85 Penywern, Llanelli for the grant of a Hackney Carraige / Private Hire Dual Drivers Licence.

 

The Committee interviewed Mr Jones with regard to his application and issues raised by both the Senior Licencing Officer and the Dyfed Powys Police representative.

 

The Senior Licensing Officer recommended that Mr Jones’s application be refused.

 

RESOLVED that the application submitted by Mr Lee Stuart Jonesfor the grant of a Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Dual Drivers Licence be granted with a warning as to his future conduct.

 

Reasons

On the evidence presented, the Committee was satisfied that the applicant was a fit and proper person to hold a licence.
