RESOLVED that the decision record of the meeting of the Executive Board Member for Environment held on the 11^th March, 2021 be signed as a correct record.

The Executive Board Member considered a report which provides detailed information on objection that had been received to the proposed 20mph Speed Limit along various residential streets in North Llanelli.

It was reported this proposal is part of a Welsh Government Pilot, whereby funding for introducing the changes to the speed limit would be borne by the Welsh Government.  The 20mph speed limit proposed for the northern area of Llanelli is part of a series of pilot projects around Wales being funded by Welsh Government and would inform on future potential legislation.

The Executive Board Member made reference to the information regarding the consultation of the proposed 20mph limits and noted that no objections had been received from the statutory consultees including the emergency services, local members, both Llanelli Town and Rural Councils and key stakeholder groups.

It was reported that during the consultation period the Council’s Head of Administration and Law had received 1 objection which was detailed within the report.  The Executive Board member considered and noted the objection.

It was recommended that following due consideration of the objection and the Authority’s response, the proposals, as detailed in the Traffic Regulation Order Notice (Appendix 1) be approved.

RESOLVED that

3.1      the objection as detailed in the report be noted;

3.2      the proposals as described in Traffic Regulation Order Notice          (Appendix 1), be approved.
