RESOLVED that the decision record of the meeting held on the 8^th November, 2024 be signed as a correct record.

The Cabinet Member considered a report on the provision of financial support to local communities this winter via the Welsh Government’s Safe, Secure and Warm Spaces initiative. As part of the initiative the Authority had been allocated a budget of £83,875 to support communities to establish warm hubs and provide individuals with a welcoming, accessible, safe and warm environment that may include:

·         Basic refreshments and snacks

·         The provision of advice and support services toattendees for example, advice and support on financial matters, health and well-being or digital accessibility

·         Further enrichment activity such as exercise, arts or cultural activity

It was reported that in order to provide local organisations with access to the funding, it was proposed the Authority initiated a call for applications, which would be administered by the Council’s Bureau, with eligible organisations being able to receive a maximum award of £2,500 to deliver support to the end of March 2025. Eligible applications would be assessed by the Bureau’s grants panel with final approval being delegated to the Head of Economic Development and Property to award funding. Successful applicants would be required to sign an agreement setting out the terms and conditions of the grant, one of which would be to host at least one visit from each of the following Council advice and support services to support attendees with relevant information:
