LIVING WELL IN CARMARTHENSHIRE IS A LIFE COURSE PREVENTION STRATEGY FOR 2025 – 2030. THIS WOULD EMPHASISE OUR COMMITMENT TO ENSURE THAT FAMILIES AFFECTED BY PUBLIC TRAGEDY RECEIVE THE UTMOST RESPECT, SUPPORT AND CARE DURING AND AFTER SUCH EVENTS, RECOGNISING THE FUNCTIONS THAT THE COUNCIL MAY UNDERTAKE IN SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES.

THE REPORT OUTLINES THE APPROACH THE AUTHORITY IS TAKING IN ADDRESSING THE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE NATURE EMERGENCY. THE STRATEGY BUILDS UPON THE COUNCIL’S EXISTING NET ZERO PLAN AND SETS OUT THE WIDER ACTIONS THE COUNCIL IS TAKING TO RESPOND TO THE CLIMATE AND NATURE EMERGENCIES.

S10.7 OF THE FLOOD AND WATER MANAGEMENT ACT 2010 REQUIRES ALL LOCAL AUTHORITIES TO PUBLISH THEIR LOCAL FLOOD RISK MANAGEMENT STRATEGY.

THE AIM OF THIS POLICY IS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF OCCUPATIONAL ROAD RISKS WITHIN THE COUNCIL AND TO REDUCE THE ASSOCIATED RISKS TO EMPLOYEES, ELECTED MEMBERS, THE PUBLIC, AND THE COUNCIL TO AN ACCEPTABLE LEVEL.

Having an AI and Automation Strategy is crucial for a forward-thinking Local Authority such as ours. Our new AI and Automation Strategy will empower us to achieve operational improvements and efficiencies, enhance services, and navigate the evolving landscape of technology. It will help to ensure we are exploring and adopting this technology safely, ethically, and appropriately whilst supporting and underpinning the objectives of our overarching Digital Strategy 2024 – 2027.

The Carmarthenshire Rights of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP) 2019-2029 has been produced and published in accordance with section 60 of the Countryside and Rights of Way (CROW) Act (2000).
The ROWIP details Carmarthenshire’s plan for the strategic management, development, and improvement of the County’s Public Rights of Way network up until 2029.
During consultation with the Local Access Forum, The Forum identified a need for the local authority to commit to producing a Carmarthenshire Equestrian Strategy to recognise the access opportunities and challenges for horse riding and carriage driving across the County.
An Equestrian Strategy to ‘promote and develop an accessible network for equestrian use’ has therefore been published in the Carmarthenshire Rights of Way Improvement Plan 2019-2029.
The report sets out the proposal to adopt an Equestrian Strategy for Carmarthenshire.
