PRIVATE OR UNADOPTED ROADS

AN UNADOPTED ROAD IS A HIGHWAY THAT ISN’T MAINTAINED BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITY OR COUNCIL. THIS REPORT SEEKS APPROVAL TO SET A POLICY OF HOW THE AUTHORITY WILL DEAL WITH REQUEST TO ADOPT PRIVATE OR UNADOPTED ROADS. THE POLICY WILL ALSO OUTLINE HOW THE AUTHORITY MAY ITSELF DECIDE TO ADOPT A ROAD THAT IS UNADOPTED.
