OBJECTIONS TO THE PROPOSED ROAD HUMP ON THE A485 AT NEW INN pdf icon PDF 427 KB

Additional documents:

Minutes:

The Executive Board member considered a report on proposals to construct a road hump on the A485 at the northern entry to the village of New Inn, as a means of slowing down traffic as it entered the village. It was reported that, previously, the location had been provided with various warning signs, a Vehicle Activated Sign and been the subject of enforcement by both the Dyfed Powys Police and GoSafe  (Safety Camera Partnership) in an attempt to reduce speeding. However, despite those measures, speeding remained to be an issue and the only satisfactory measure to reduce those speeds was considered to be the installation of the road hump.

The Executive Board Member was advised that following advertising of the proposal one objection had been received, as detailed in Appendix 2 to the report together with the officer responses to the objections raised. It was recommended that the objection be noted, but that the Council proceed with the installation of the road hump to reduce the speed of traffic through New Inn.

RESOLVED that the objection received to the proposed installation of a road hump on the A485 at the northern entrance to the village of New Inn be noted, but that the Council proceed with the proposal in the interest of road safety and reducing traffic speeds
